If Akua Donkor is elected president of Ghana, she is looking for a male partner who will serve as the country’s first gentleman.
The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) flagbearer, who lost her husband two years ago, revealed this while declaring her readiness to try marriage once more. Elections in 2016 saw Akua Donkor run, but she was later disqualified.
She managed to make it through the 2020 election as one of the candidates listed on the ballot sheet and received 5,574 votes (0.04% of the total votes cast), placing her 11th out of 12 contenders.
However, the 70-year-old politician claimed he needs a man by her if he wants to win handily in the upcoming general elections in 2024.

“I haven’t re-married since my husband died. It’s been two years and my ring is no longer on my finger. I need to get married again because I need a partner as a female politician. It gets to a point in this political career where you and your husband’s presence will be required. I need a man to become a first gentleman after I win power,” she said.
Akua Donkor stated in an interview with Kofi TV that performing household duties will not be part of her responsibilities as a wife.
“You won’t marry me to come and cook and clean for you. I won’t be responsible for house chores, that won’t happen. I only want your name,”
