For Argentina’s 2022 World Cup-winning team, Lionel Messi purchased gold iPhones for each member of the team and the coaching staff.
The gold personalized iPhones for the team were reportedly purchased for close to £175,000 by the Paris Saint-Germain star.
In order to honor his teammates and the coaching staff for their heroics in Qatar last year, Messi partnered with IDESIGN GOLD.
The iPhones are customized with each player’s name and jersey number and are 24-carat gold-plated.

After his team won the World Cup, Messi reportedly asked iDesign Gold CEO Ben Lyons to give his teammates a special gift.
“Lionel is not only the Goat but he’s one of IDESIGN GOLD’s most loyal customers and got in touch with us a couple of months after the World Cup final,” he told The Sun.
“He said he wanted a special gift for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win but didn’t want the usual gift of watches. So, I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names, and he loved the idea.”
Messi helped his nation win the Qatar 2022 World Cup in December, solidifying his place in football history.
Argentina defeated France on penalties in the championship game, and the 35-year-old scored twice as his team won the coveted trophy.
Messi won the majority of the votes at the Best FIFA Football Awards gala on Monday, making him the best male player of the year as well.
He defeated teammates Kylian Mbappe of PSG and Karim Benzema of Real Madrid, who received 44 and 34 votes, respectively, with his total of 52 votes.
