The National Democratic Congress has been informed by Nana Akomea, the former director of communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), that their attempt to drive a rift between the Vice President and the President will fail.
According to a narrative pointed by the opposition NDC, the Vice President is fleeing the chaos that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration has caused.
In a response, the Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC) said “the new kid on the block is Dr. Bawumia.”

He added, “in the wake of Dr. Bawumia’s powerful vision he outlined to the nation last Wednesday, 7th February 2024, the NDC led by ex-President Mahama, obviously dazed, have been engaged in all sorts of twists and turns.
One major twist and turn of the NDC is the attempt to drive some wedge between President Akufo Addo and his Vice President Bawumia. The basis of the NDC propaganda is laughable. They say Bawumia has proposed policies different from President Addo’s. The NDC should ask themselves if there is only one APPROACH to issues? John Mahama has been president for four and half years. Is he today as a flag bearer proposing the same paths or approach to issues as he proposed when he was president?
“How is Bawumia distancing himself from government when he touted the policies of the government in the first one hour and half of his address? The NDC also says Bawumia has absolved himself from blame for the country’s “mess.” Question is when and where did Bawumia lay blame on anybody for the country’s so called “mess”? And where did he “absolve” himself from any such “mess”. Indeed, Bawumia has always touted the achievements and successes of the government.”

WHERE DID BAWUMIA OSTRACIZE AKUFO – ADDO? NDC PROPAGANDA WILL NOT WASH
In the wake of Dr.
How is Bawumia distancing himself from government when he touted the policies of the government in the first one hour and half of his address? The NDC also says Bawumia has absolved himself from blame for the country’s “mess.” Question is when and where did Bawumia lay blame on anybody for the country’s so called “mess”? And where did he “absolve” himself from any such “mess”. Indeed, Bawumia has always touted the achievements and successes of the government. He has acknowledged the current economic difficulties the country is going through. He has expressed his optimism about the measures the government is taking and the visible positive indicators coming out of government’s efforts.
How is this an acknowledgement of failure, how is this a blame against Akufo Addo, how is this an ostracization of Akufo Addo, when Bawumia likens himself to a Driver’s mate? Is that not a true analogy? Did not the NDC say the same thing about him in 2015/2016? How does he like himself to a driver’s mate, amount to him blaming or abandoning Akufo Addo? The NDC says Akufo Addo gave Bawumia sole charge of the economy. Question is has Akufo Addo came to complain about Bawumia’s performance? Clearly, the issue about Bawumia’s non performance is a figment of the ndc’s imagination.
The NDC question why Bawumia directed 170 questions to then Vice President Amissah- Arthur How does a Vice Presidential Candidate, seeking information from his opposite number, amount to assigning blame to his opposite number? The big question NDC has to ask themselves is, when John Mahama became President in July 2012, and had only six months to complete the term of President Mills, did not John Mahama came up with his own set of policies and directives for these six months? Did that amount to a betrayal or repudiation of President Mills? Ghanaians would realize that these NDC issues of blame, repudiation, ostracization, betrayal, etc, are in the imagination of the NDC. The NDC belief that they can drive a wedge between President Akufo Addo and Vice President Bawumia, will just not watch. The two gentlemen are too experienced to fall for it. The NDC should focus on the great vision and leadership offered by Bawumia in his speech.
Between the two gentlemen, vying for the presidency, John Mahama has been president. He is tried, tested, failed, and rejected.
The new kid on the block is Dr. Bawumia.
