Actor-turned-politician John Dumelo has declared his intention to run for the position of Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon in the upcoming NDC primaries.
The actor ran for office in the 2020 general elections as a candidate for the opposition NDC, but she fell just short to Lydia Alhassan, the NPP’s candidate for the parliamentary seat.
Following his defeat in the elections, the actor increased his visits to the Volta region, which sparked rumors that he intended to run for MP there.
Rumor has it that Ayawaso West Wuogon was only there to introduce him because his actual employment is in his native Volta Region.
