    Ghanaian supporters have received an apology from Black Stars defender Salisu Mohammed  regarding the team’s appalling performance during the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

    According to him, the team is equally disappointed in the early AFCON exist as they did not want this to happen.

    Salisu Mohammed appreciated Ghanaians for their support during their AFCON campaign and hoped that the Black Stars will get back stronger.

    The Monaco defender has become the latest Black Stars player to render apology to Ghanaians following the abysmal performance of the entire team at the ongoing 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.

    “Sincere apologies to our Ghanaian people for this disappointment, This is not the way we wanted it, we thank you for your support as we hope to get back stronger and better,” Salisu Mohammed wrote.

    After the shocking exist from the ongoing 2023 AFCON, Ghanaians descended heavily on the Black Stars players, the entire technical team and the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Ghanaian players have been apologizing for disappointing and bring shame to Ghana.

    Relatedly, Alexander Djiku also begged Ghanaians to pardon the senior national team for their heartbreaking 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) elimination.

    According to him, the team did not live up to Ghanaians’ expectations.

    Alexander Djiku acknowledged that his apology would not ease the suffering endured by Ghanaians, while expressing profound regret for the way that events transpired in the Ivory Coast.

    “Words will certainly not be enough to erase the disillusionment. We are disappointed and very sorry for our Ghanaian people that we have failed at this stage of the competition, but if you only knew how grateful we are to have been supported by you, our Ghanaian fans,” Alexander Djiku said.

    In a related development, following the Black Stars’ tournament exit, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) dismissed head coach Chris Hughton along with the whole technical staff.
