Kennedy Agyapong, a member of parliament for Assin Central, has threatened to publish damaging allegations of corruption against Francis Asenso-Boakye, a fellow member, if the latter is allowed to continue as the party’s parliamentary candidate.
He urged party delegates in the Bantama constituency to abstain from voting for Asenso-Boakye on the grounds that he is conceited and dishonest in every way.
On January 11, 2024, Ken Agyapong, whose brother Ralph Agyapong is running against Asenso-Boakye in the next primary, thoroughly explained why Bantama MP should not be kept in office during a meeting with a few delegates.
As he pleaded with the delegates to support his brother, Ken Agyapong threatened to launch an investigation against the incumbent Bantama MP should he be re-elected.
“If you make a mistake and vote for Asenso, you will see the revelations I will bring out. Yes, I am telling you; it’s a condition. If you don’t want me to talk, vote against him.
“If you want me to talk, vote for him and I challenge you because we won’t follow you to destroy Ghana. We have no other place to go. Anyone challenging me here today that Kennedy Agyapong has spoken so baldy so they are going to vote for Asenso to win, you will see,” he stated.
Kennedy Agyapong has accused Asenso Boakye, the Minister for Works and Housing and former Deputy Chief of Staff, of bribery. Again, he threatened to make serious allegations if delegates of Bantama vote for him in the primaries. pic.twitter.com/scO4x341AB

The leader of the NDC, John Mahama, has attacked the purported corruption in the current administration while touring the Volta area.
He highlighted the belief that the NPP’s internal corruption makes it difficult for them to fight corruption.
If elected, Mahama promised to combat corruption, calling for responsibility and warning party members against misbehavior in positions of power.
“Now, corruption has broken loose and if it was in the IGP’s custody, it has broken the jail and is running all over the country. It’s obvious that the NPP has no desire or the ability to check corruption because their own people are involved in the corruption, and they cannot deal with it.”
