Zapp Mallet, a legendary music producer, has apologized to Afua Asantewaa Aduonum for remarks he made recently about her attempt to set a new record for the Sing-a-thon.
His previous remarks caused a stir on the internet because many users thought the music producer’s situation was unjustified and extremely insensitive.
In addition to criticizing her vocal ability, he said that the feat she is attempting is extraordinarily difficult and that there is no reason why more experienced singers would dare to attempt it.
Zapp Mallet apologized via tweet after learning about the nature of the challenge and receiving backlash for his remarks.
He apologized, admitting that he made a mistake and misunderstood the challenge’s requirements.
He added that he was worried about her and that, like every other Ghanaian, he was supporting her when he posted what he had said earlier.
Guys, guys, guys, I’m so, so sorry. I just realized I was judging Afua Asantewaa so hard. Please forgive me. I didn’t know the rules. But I said some of the things out of concern for her. Please, don’t get me wrong. I’m behind her just like every Ghanaian.
