Christian Atsu is still missing 9 days after the earthquake in Turkey, so fans continue to pray for him in the hope that he will be found.

Ghanaian TV personality and film icon Akrobeto is among the soccer player’s fans who are hoping for the best for the footballer.

On the latest episode of ‘Real News’ hosted by Akrobeto, the TV star revealed that he has also benefited from Christian Atsu’s kindness. Akrobeto revealed that the player once offered him 800 euros even though he had never met in person before.

Praising the the former Chelsea player, Akrobeto said “I have seen Atsu on TV but never met him personally but he sent money through Kwaku Manu to give it to me. He said he enjoyed the Real News as it became a source of entertainment for him while in Europe”.

“Kwaku Manu told him I’m his uncle and he asked him to give me the money to show appreciation for the work I do. Someone close to him also called to check if I had received the money. I expressed my gratitude to him,” he recounted during the show.

According to Akrobeto, “I don’t know him but I was shocked by how showed love to me. Quite recently he helped to free some prisoners.

“We can all die at any time so work on your soul. It cannot be confirmed that he is alive or dead but imagine what he is going through. It is very painful. Let’s all pray for him and stop the unnecessary speculations,” he added.

Atsu, who plays for Turkish team Hatayspor, is believed to have been trapped under the rubble following the February 6 earthquake in the south of the country and parts of Syria.

The disaster is believed to have claimed the lives of more than 35,000 people in these two countries to date, and the death toll continues to rise.

Thousands of people have also been injured as rescue efforts continue to frantically search for any other survivors who may be under the rubble.

Christian Atsu’s predicament has attracted widespread interest in Ghana and around the world. In an interview with the BBC last week, his British wife called on the Turkish and British authorities to speed up the process of rescuing the former Chelsea and Newcastle player.
