Shalimar Abbiusi, a foreign national who is allegedly connected to a recently formed political organization called “The New Force,” has reappeared before the Kaneshie District Court.
In a video sighted on UTV X (formerly Twitter) page, Shalimar Abbiusi was seen arriving and been escorted into the Kaneshie District Court after she was lawfully remanded into custody on Friday, December 8.

Earlier on, the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) arraigned her.
Instead of accepting the accused person’s plea, the Kaneshie District court read the case in public.
The Belgian representative of “The New Force,” Abbiusi, is being detained on suspicion of “obtaining for yourself a student permit by false declaration.”
The accused, Shalimar Abbiusi was placed under lawful custody and ordered to return on Monday, December 11, 2023, after the court granted the prosecution several days to wrap up their investigations.
Meanwhile, the New Force political movement’s spokesperson’s family has charged Ghana’s government with robbing them of their daughter.
They claim that although Shalimar Abbiusi has been forcibly detained by the National Investigation Bureau (NIB), she is not a criminal.
Ms. Abbiusi’s parents were seen sobbing and pleading for their daughter’s release in a recent video that the New Force released.
“They kidnapped my daughter, she did nothing wrong. She is not a criminal,” her mother cried.
In addition, her father pleaded with the authorities to free her defenseless daughter.
“I want to speak to the government; give my daughter back,” he fumed.
The movement’s ambassador and diaspora coordinator, Ms. Abbiusi, was first invited by the police to a meeting on Monday, December 4, 2023, but has not been released, according to the New Force.
Shalimar Abbiusi, the spokesperson for the newly formed political movement New Force, was arrested, which has sparked concerns.
The group claims that despite her initial invitation for a meeting on Monday, December 4, 2023, Ms. Abbiusi, in charge of New Force’s diplomatic and diaspora engagements, has not been released.
Ms. Abbiusi made her public debut in a video announcing plans to reveal their platform for the upcoming election.
