Asamoah Gyan’s Case
Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has expressed his anger and disappointment after losing a GH¢1 million lawsuit against a business partner. He was also slapped with an additional GH¢60,000 fine for malicious prosecution, bringing the total cost of the case to GH¢1,071,000.
Speaking in an interview with GHOne TV, Gyan described the ruling as “awful” and vowed to appeal the decision.
“There is no way I should lose that case. I now heard the judge didn’t collect our evidence and everything,” Gyan stated angrily. “There is a conspiracy somewhere. I will follow up this time. That judgment was very awful.”
The lawsuit stemmed from a business partnership between Gyan and the defendant, which went sour. The details of the case remain unclear, but it is evident that Gyan is not satisfied with the outcome.
Gyan
Gyan’s lawyers have confirmed that they will be filing an appeal against the ruling. They argue that the judge made several errors in law and that the verdict is unfair.
The appeal process could take several months, and it is unclear whether Gyan will ultimately be successful in overturning the ruling. However, his strong reaction suggests that he is determined to clear his name and recover the lost funds.
This is not the first time Gyan has been involved in a legal dispute. He was previously sued by a woman who claimed that he had fathered her child. The case was eventually settled out of court.
Gyan’s off-field controversies have sometimes overshadowed his on-pitch achievements. However, he remains one of Ghana’s most popular athletes, and his fans will no doubt be hoping that he can overcome this latest setback.
Will This Cause More Trouble For His Reputation
Only time will tell whether Gyan will be able to clear his name and recover the lost funds. However, one thing is for sure: the Ghanaian football legend is not going down without a fight.
In addition to the GH¢1 million fine, Gyan will also be responsible for paying legal costs. This could amount to a significant sum of money.
This legal battle has been a major setback for Gyan. It will likely damage his reputation and could have financial implications for him.
