According to reports, a 40-year-old man, identified as Kwame Essel, was beaten to death by several people for allegedly stealing bananas from a farm.

According to adomonline.com, the heartbreaking incident happened on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Ajumako Bisease in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam district of the Central region.

Media reporter Kofi Adjei reported that the deceased was a resident of Ajuamko Kokoben before his untimely death. He will go to Bisease, a nearby town, where he will steal bananas.

Instead of handing him over to the police, the locals dealt with the law themselves and illegally executed Essel.

He was taken to Ajumako Bisease General Clinic for treatment, but was declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile in Nigeria, police in Abuja State arrested Pastor Uche Aigbe after a viral video showed him preaching to members of his congregation on Sunday while wielding an AK47 assault rifle.

The Nigeria pastor of the House on the Rock chapter Abuja is said to have preached on “spiritual weapons” and chose to use such dangerous weapons.

Following angry reactions to calls for his arrest, the Abuja-based church branch where the man of God performed the stunt has apologized for his actions, saying that he “realises that even with the best of intentions, carrying a gun to illustrate his message was ill-advised and regrettable”.

However, this has not prevented the country’s law enforcement from carrying out its duties.

In addition to Pastor Aigbe, a police officer in possession of the weapon mentioned has also been detained along with the head of church security while investigations are ongoing.
