Police in Nigeria’s Abuja State arrested Pastor Uche Aigbe after a viral video showed him preaching to members of his congregation on Sunday while wielding an AK47 assault rifle.
The Nigeria pastor of the House on the Rock chapter Abuja is said to have preached on “spiritual weapons” and chose to use such dangerous weapons.

Following angry reactions to calls for his arrest, the Abuja-based church branch where the man of God performed the stunt has apologized for his actions, saying that he “realises that even with the best of intentions, carrying a gun to illustrate his message was ill-advised and regrettable”.
However, this has not prevented the country’s law enforcement from carrying out its duties.
In addition to Pastor Aigbe, a police officer in possession of the weapon mentioned has also been detained along with the head of church security while investigations are ongoing.
The pastor made his way to the altar, carrying the gun, as many members of his congregation exchanged glances, trying to figure out what was going on.

House on the Rock said it does not support any form of violence and “cooperating fully with the authorities as they carry out their investigations into this incident”.
In the video that got the famous man of God in trouble, he was seen showing off his assault rifle while standing on the pulpit in the church auditorium.

“Some people are looking for my trouble. And I came here prepared,” he said as the church members watched in confusion, wondering what exactly was happening.
At one point during a church service, he raised his gun and pointed it upwards. Several Twitter users reacted to the video, with many saying the pastor’s behavior put the parishioners at risk.
Some also questioned whether the weapon in question was legally purchased and whether the pastor was authorized by law to carry and display it in public.
It was clear now that he was not allowed to carry a weapon let alone display it so dangerously in an auditorium full of worshipers.
