Popular Ghanaian Gospel Minister Sonnie Badu from Ghana recently related a moving story about the ability of his music to transform.
He told of how one of his songs profoundly affected a fetish priest and resulted in a major life transformation.
Sonnie Badu related the tale in an AdwumaAdwuma interview, stating that the fetish priest was profoundly touched by the message his music expressed.
The “Baba” hitmaker claimed that the fetish priest said he was struck down after seeing the music video on television.
He had been a fetish priest for about twenty years before that encounter.
In telling his (fetish priest’s) story, he said that while he was watching a TV video, he was holding his fly-whisk, or bodua, but it fell out of his hands when Sonnie Badu started singing.
After that, he claimed that the fly-whisk could not be lifted and revealed that, at the time, he was not even acquainted with the well-known gospel singer.

Meanwhile, recently, Gospel minister revealed how much he admires Davido and Burna Boy, two well-known names in the modern music industry.
In an open discussion, he revealed how these two musicians’ musical journeys and experiences inspire him.
Renowned for his soul-stirring gospel music, he disclosed that he has been learning new things constantly by watching Burna Boy and Davido’s careers.
“I am inspired by Davido and Burna Boy, I have seen the kind of music they do , so I like to learn what they are doing so I can do it in the gospel space. I can’t say I don’t listen to secular music, that would be a lie , I do hear it and I enjoy it. I do listen to secular music to see what I can do better,” he said.
