The founder and leader of Movement for Change and former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has taken a swipe at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and other critics who have criticized John Mahama’s 24-hour economy policy.

Over the weekend, on December 2nd, 2023, Alan Kyerematen stormed Kumasi with his ‘Afrafranto’ walk with thousands of youth joining the former Trade Minister.

Speaking to the gathering, Alan Kyerematen underscored the importance of John Mahama’s 24-hour economy but said it has to be built on industrialization, infrastructure, and tourism.

“If Mahama says he will implement a 24-hour economy policy if voted into power, he hasn’t said anything bad. Anyone who says Mahama’s 24-hour economy proposal is not good doesn’t understand politics,” he said.

According to him, Ghanaians must ask Mahama how he is going to make the 24-hour economy policy work if voted into office.

Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has praised the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) administration’s accomplishments.

According to him, the NPP has proven to be the most capable of bringing prosperity and development to the people of Ghana.

Speaking to the NPP on Saturday, December 2, 2023, following the party’s parliamentary primaries in orphan constituencies around the nation, he predicted the party would win the general elections in 2024.

President Akufo-Addo stated, “While acknowledging the current challenges facing the country, “With our record in office, we are the Party that can bring progress and prosperity to all parts of our country.”

“Through this, we shall create the united, formidable front that, under the leadership of our new, worthy presidential candidate, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will enable us to go into the difficult 2024 elections with quiet confidence, and, with the help of Almighty God, Break the Eight, which is the fervent wish of all NPP members, and, indeed, of all well-meaning Ghanaians.”
