Dr Yaw Osarfo, CEO and Medical Director of Medicas Hospital, believes that people who are deeply in love sleep better.

As most people know, sleep is medicine because the body repairs itself. Adequate sleep is essential to maintaining optimal health and well-being.

Like exercise and a balanced diet, sleep can help prevent a range of health problems, including heart disease and depression.

“You sleep better when you’re in love, even when you’re in a poorly ventilated room. When you’re curdled up against your loved one, I’m telling you, sleep comes and takes over,” Dr Yaw Osarfo said.

It is consistent with the belief that curling up will induce sleep, when hearing words of love and affection sweetly reach the ears.

Dr Yaw Osarfo also supports the idea that children sleep longer.

“When you sleep, things like growth hormone, which is important for growth, get released, and the rate of release hits its peak during sleep,” he said.
