Biography King Charles III
King Charles III, born Prince Charles Philip Arthur George, is the current King of the United Kingdom and the 15 Commonwealth realms. He ascended to the throne on September 9, 2022, upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. King charles is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He was born on November 14, 1948, at Buckingham Palace in London.
Early Life and Education
Charles was also educated at Cheam School, Gordonstoun School in Scotland, and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he studied archaeology and anthropology. After graduating from Cambridge, Charles also served in the Royal Navy for five years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Prince of Wales
In 1958, at the age of nine, Charles was created Prince of Wales, the traditional title of the heir apparent to the British throne. He has undertaken a wide range of public engagements on behalf of the Queen, including representing the UK at overseas events, visiting charities and organizations, and undertaking patronages.
Personal Life
In 1981, Charles married Lady Diana Spencer. The couple had two sons, Prince William (born in 1982) and Prince Harry (born in 1984). The marriage was also troubled, and the couple divorced in 1996. In 2005, Charles married Camilla Parker Bowles.
