Ghana’s Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NPP presidential hopeful has called on delegates to remember him ahead of Saturday, November 4 elections and vote massively to elect him as the flagbearer.
Throughout his speech during his last rally in Bolga, Dr. Bawumia emphasized his sacrifices over the years as well as his contributions to the NPP’s growth.
According to Dr. Bawumia, it was important for NPP to go to court after the 2012 elections. He asserted that even though they eventually lost but they discovered how the tactics the National Democratic Congress (NDC) deployed to rig the elections.
He added that after they discovered the tactics, they were able to stop NDC from rigging the 2016 and 2020 elections, which helped NPP to win both elections.
Dr. Bawumia called on the delegates to remember the good things he did for them during the party’s internal elections, and therefore he urged them to also reciprocate by voting for him to become the next flagbearer to the NPP in 2024 general elections.

Relatedly, the Vice President declared that he is the candidate the NDC fears the most, as they would not have a campaign message against him. He claimed that the NDC is afraid of him just by hearing his name.
The Veep urged the NPP delegates to vote for him because he is only candidate the NDC fears the most amongst the other 4 presidential aspirants.
Explaining further, the Vice President asserted that NDC fears him because they believe he can give John Mahama a showdown in their 3 stronghold in the 2024 general election.
Dr. Bawumia is one of three candidates—Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai-Nimoh—running for the role of flagbearer.
The NPP has set November 4, 2023, as the date for choosing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo‘s successor as the party’s head.
