Member of the Communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Mohammed Nasiru, has said he is not surprise Prof. Stephen Adei has accused the Ministry of Roads and Highways of engaging corrupt activities.
The issue of corruption in the awarding of road contracts was lamented by Prof. Stephen Adei in an interview, and he claimed to have information to the effect that those looking for road contracts are told: “Road contracts will be given to you, provided you pay 1 million upfront.”
Following this, Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Attah, Minister for Roads and Highways, has asked the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) to launch a thorough investigation into claims of corruption in the awarding of road contracts.
During a panel discussion on UTV Adekye Nsroma, the NDC Communications team member said President Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP government is full of corruption which has been exposed by his own party people in recent times.

Alhaji Mohammed Nasiru asserted that President Akufo-Addo is so corrupt that he failed to sue Aljazeera after the media house revealed the corrupt activities going on in his administration.
He also accused Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Attah, Minister for Roads and Highways of being corrupt because he has refused to pay some contractors.
According to Mohammed Nasiru, he knows some contractors who can serve as witnesses for Prof. Adei.

In a related news, the former rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Professor, made some allegations that the Ministry of Roads and Highways has described as surprising.
The Ministry explained that the procedures leading to the awarding of road contracts are open, transparent, competitive, and in compliance with the law in a statement released on October 23.
The Ministry promised that the allegations would be thoroughly and objectively investigated in close coordination with EOCO.
