Ashanti Regional Police Command is seeking a youth organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Suame constituency of Ashanti Region, for inciting political violence.
According to police, the NDC youth organizer in the area was seen in a viral video inciting party members against members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

As a result, he incited NDC members to attack their NPP counterparts ahead of the 2024 general election.
“The Ashanti Regional Police Command has initiated steps to get this person arrested to face justice. Meanwhile, we would like to take this opportunity to urge political actors to be circumspect in their utterances and actions as we work together to safeguard the peace and security of our beloved country,” the police in a statement said.
The police department’s attention was drawn to a viral video in which a person claiming to be a youth organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Suame constituency of Ashanti region called for NDC supporters attack those from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the run-up to the 2024 general election.

POLICE STATEMENT ON VIRAL VIDEO INCITING POLITICAL VIOLENCE AHEAD OF THE 2024 GENERAL ELECTIONS
The attention of the Police Service has been drawn to a viral video in which a person who identifies himself as the Youth Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Suame Constituency of the Ashanti Region calls on supporters of the NDC to attack persons of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the run-up to the 2024 General Elections.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has initiated steps to get this person arrested to face justice.

The NDC youth organizer alleged that Nana Akufo-Addo won the 2020 elections by killing 8 people and so they (NDC) would have to kill NPP members win election in 2024 then they are prepared.
According to him, he has already psyche his members to be ready to fight any NPP member ahead of the 2024 general elections, especially in the Suame constituency.
“We have decided to beat any NPP member in our constituency who will try to fight us, because that is the only for us to survive here,” he said.
