A Netizen on X (formerly Twitter) has slammed Ghanaian-UK based Gospel musician and pastor, Sonnie Badu for saying that President Nana Akufo-Addo is having sleepless nights over the current economic crisis in the country.
Recently, Sonnie Badu encouraged and counseled the youth, advising them to work honestly and truthfully rather than blaming only the current president for the nation’s problems.
Sonnie Badu asserted on TV3’s New Day that he believes President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is actively addressing the problems facing the nation.
According to him, the President is keeping an eye on the nation’s current problems, it is important for young people to be open with one another.
Sonnie Badu thinks that progress can be achieved by utilizing the natural talents that each person possesses and by upholding integrity.
“I said on the other show yesterday that I don’t think the President is sleeping,” he told host Cookie Tee. “I think he is having sleepless nights with whatever [that] is going on but let’s also help ourselves. “Let’s start networking, let’s start working together.
He continued, “Let’s work in honesty. Let’s work in truth. When somebody gives you something, make sure you are honest about it.”
After his comments went viral, a Netizen on X identified as Deens criticized the celebrated Gospel singer.
The social media user alleged that Badu has been bribed by President Nana Addo that’s why he defended him during the interview. He added that nobody forced the Nana Addo to become the President.
Meanwhile, Sonnie Badu replied the Twitter user. Here is what he said in response to the allegations of receiving bribe from the NPP government.
“Bribe me ? If they did I will share the money with you … however whoever is doing things to a the nation deliberately their children Will suffer for it … if the president sleeps over what’s going on then I have a lot of questions.. the world is watching.”
