Jalen Hurts is an American football quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Alabama and Oklahoma, where he was a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist and led the Oklahoma Sooners to the College Football Playoff in 2019.

Hurts was born on August 7, 1998, in Houston, Texas. He attended Channelview High School, where he was a star quarterback and basketball player. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Texas in 2015 and was selected to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Hurts signed with Alabama to play college football. He redshirted his freshman season and then became the starting quarterback in 2016. He led the Crimson Tide to a 14-1 record and the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, where they lost to Clemson.

Hurts was the starting quarterback for Alabama again in 2017, but he was benched for Tua Tagovailoa in the second half of the season. He transferred to Oklahoma for his final season of eligibility.

Hurts led Oklahoma to a 12-2 record and the College Football Playoff in 2019. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist for the second time in his career.

Hurts was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
