The #FixTheCountry movement is staging a demonstration known as the “Occupy Julorbi House Demo,” but the Ghana Police Service has obtained a court injunction to put an end to it.

Just hours before the D-day, Thursday, September 21, 2023, the law enforcement organization made this information public in a statement on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

“The Police have filed an application at the court and successfully served the organisers of a group identifying itself as Democracy Hub in connection with a planned demonstration within the vicinity of the Jubilee House from Thursday, 21st to Saturday, 23rd September 2023,” the Public Affairs Unit’s Superintendent Juliana Obeng is the spokesperson for the police, according to the statement.

It continued by advising the populace to disregard calls for them to gather for the aforementioned protest. The organizers of the now-injuncted demonstration were once more warned by the police to abide by the law and respect the court order that had been properly served on them.

“As we wait for the court to determine the matter, we wish to urge the public to take note and disregard any calls from any individuals or groups encouraging them to assemble for a demonstration at the Jubilee House.

“We equally wish to urge the organisers to respect the due process in the interest of public order and public safety.”

The widely publicized three-day protest was scheduled to occur at the Jubilee House, which serves as the capital, from Thursday, September 21, 2023, to Saturday, September 23, 2023.

The protest’s organizers believe that timing it on Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s birthday, a national holiday, will give it greater significance and help them get their point across to the government.

They contend that other unpleasant conditions in the country, such as corruption and economic hardship, have gotten worse under the current Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party administration, which is why they chose to protest.
