At Sokoban-Apaaso in the Ashanti Region, a house boy who is accused of killing his employer has confessed to the crime.

Stella Osei, 35, also known as Princess Afua Ahenkan, was murdered by Allister John, 22, and James Anokye. This was Stella’s first court appearance.

The main suspect broke the rules and raised his hand to indicate he had something to say despite the fact that the accused people’s plea was not considered.

The house boy pleaded with the court to release James Anokye, the second accused party, who he claimed was not involved in the crime.

“I accept responsibility and plead with the court to be lenient with me” he said in Twi before the Asokore Mampong District Court.

Allister claims that in order to get Anokye to help him move some family possessions to Accra, he lied to him.

The accused insisted and begged for leniency in open court even after his plea was rejected.

Alister and a co-conspirator, Anokye, have been charged with murder and murder in violation of sections 23(1) and 46 of the Criminal Offenses Act (Act 29) of 1960.

Following the arrest of the two from their hideout in Accra, police are now looking for three additional accomplices.

According to the prosecution, the House boy invited the drivers, Anokye, and Biggie to his employer’s Apaaso home.

The deceased’s KIA Sportage, bearing the license plate GS 307-21, was driven by the three and later sold to John Obu, a third conspirator.

In order to allow for additional investigations, the police prosecution asked the court to remand the accused individuals into police custody.

Additionally, it pleaded with the court to order the release of the KIA Sportage car to the deceased woman’s husband and to seize the Toyota Vitz that the first accused had purchased with the proceeds from the sale of the KIA car.

ASP Stephen Ofori, the prosecutor, claims that despite taking notice of the accuser’s comments, the prosecution will do everything possible to look into the matter and bring everyone involved to trial.

Samuel Buabin Quansah, the judge, adjourned the hearing until October 3, 2023.
