Information gathered by InsightNewsgh.com is that New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential aspirant, Alan Kyerematen, has rescheduled a media engagement that was slated for today.
Yesterday, Alan Kyerematen announced that he was going to address the media in a press conference on Tuesday, September 5 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel at 2pm.
However, in the last few hours things have turned out that Alan Kyerematen has to cancel the meeting, but did not provide reason of the change of mind.
It has been widely alleged that the NPP flagbearer hopeful was going to announce his intentions to step down from the presidential race.
Sharing the note on his official Twitter page, he wrote:
“This is to kindly inform the general public that the press conference scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5 2023 at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel at 2pm has been canceled.
Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted
Thank you.

Meanwhile, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, the majority leader in parliament, has urged the candidates running to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the general elections of 2024 to resign.
All of the candidates, according to him, must resign in order to allow Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the party.
He claimed that Vice President Bawumia is in the lead because of his qualifications, background, and leadership abilities.
The other candidates, according to Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, ought to withdraw because Dr. Bawumia will likely win the majority of the votes.
He urged the other candidates to use their words carefully both during the campaign and after the vote.
The representative for Suame in Kumasi, Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, said: “I am convinced and persuaded in my mind that next time, when the contest comes on, the least the man [Bawumia] can have is 75% nationwide.”
