The third witness in the ongoing investigation into the alleged plot to sack the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Superintendent George Asare, has revealed that the former Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bugri Naabu is creating a story against him.
Appearing before the Parliamentary Committee to probing into the matter on Monday, September 4, Bugri Naabu had alleged that Supt. George Asare introduced Superintendent Gyebi for the purposes of going to see the President Nana Akufo-Addo after the tape got leaked.
In his response, Supt. George Asare stated emphatically that Chief Bugri Naabu lied against him. According to him, he would even love to meet President Nana Akufo-Addo himself if he has any issue, take a photography with the president and hang it in his hall.
“Honorable chair that is not true, because I am the type that know how to present my issues assuming without admitting that it was true. I’ll be eager enough to go and meet the president myself when granted the opportunity because how many people can have the opportunity to meet the president. Then snap a picture with him put it in hall that people will see that I am also somebody,” he said.

Bugri Naabu allegedly stated that he recommended Dr. George Akuffo Dampare to the President prior to Dampare’s appointment as the IGP, according to Superintendent George Asare.
He claimed he spoke to Bugri Naabu because he thought he had influence over the appointment of an IGP when he testified before the Parliamentary Committee in Accra looking into the leaked tape.
