The Headmaster of Academics at Nkwatia Presby Senior High School has been disciplined by the Ghana Education Service (GES) for allegedly assaulting and slapping a female student, leaving her partially blind.
The incident occurred when the student left campus with an exeat, but upon her return, the headmaster questioned her without giving her the opportunity to defend herself.
The student had been forced to kneel for a considerable amount of time by the headmaster prior to the assault. He got enraged and assaulted her after she complained that she wasn’t feeling well.
Ghanaians are outraged by the development, and many are calling for the Nkwatia Presby headmaster in question to be detained and prosecuted while others are pleading with the GES to give him the boot.
In a statement, the GES expressed its “disturbing” reaction to the social media video and its unequivocal condemnation of the Nkwatia Presby Assistant Headmaster’s behavior.
The student was receiving medical attention and counseling, the GES reported, and the Assistant Headmaster had been relieved of his duties.

The GES gave the general public the reassurance that it was committed to making sure that all students across the nation had a safe and secure learning environment.
On social media, the incident has provoked outrage.
In other news, former Northern Regional Chairman for the governing NPP Daniel Bugri Naabu appeared before the Special Committee of Parliament investigating the leaked audio tape on a plot to remove Dampare as IGP.
The committee played the entire tape to the star witness, Bugri Naabu but he looked disinterested.
