Former Tema East MP Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus Glover has stated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the best candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He claimed that the vice presidential candidate’s candidacy has the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in fear.

Dr. Bawumia is the only candidate, in Mr. Glover’s opinion, who can assist the NPP in breaking the eight.

Mr. Titus Glover, who is endorsing the Vice-President said, “He’s the candidate the NDC fears most, of all the 10, when you look around, when you scout around who is the most attacked candidate amongst the 10. It tells you something.

“When NDC [set] their eyes on you, consistently attacking you, then you are the one that they fear the most.”

Additionally, he emphasized Dr. Bawumia’s contribution to the NPP’s “phenomenal” performance in the Northern Region.

“This is somebody who has sacrificed so much for the country, I’m not saying the others haven’t sacrificed but when you look at the individual contribution, look at the days of the Supreme Court…I think that he has done his best.

He added: “He [Dr Bawumia] has defended this party, he has sacrificed for this party, he is the candidate that the NDC fears so much.”

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) super delegates conference saw Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerge as the winner after receiving 629 votes, or 68.15% of all valid votes cast.

Former trade minister Alan Kyerematen came in third with 95 votes (10.29%), followed by Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong in second place with 132 votes (14.30%).

In his speech, Dr. Bawumia thanked the party for its support of him while emphasizing that this election is just the first step in his quest to become the party’s flagbearer.

Meanwhile, one of the NPP’s flagbearer candidates, Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko, has categorically denied rumors that he has withdrew from the competitive presidential primary process of the party.

In a succinct statement, Mr. Agyarko categorically rejected these allegations as unfounded and reaffirmed his unwavering readiness to face fellow flagbearer candidate Addai Nimo in the upcoming run-off.
