The Lands Commission of Ghana has officially confirmed that per the Commission’s verified documents, Ghanaian-Chinese investor, Robert Tang Wei, has his names on the authentic lands title certificate that covers a parcel of land that has become a contention between the investor and Panbros Industries Limited, a salt-producing company in Accra.
The Commission, in a letter signed by Surv. Angelina Awa, the Acting Director and dated Tuesday September 4, 2025 said the Commission has verified the original Land Certificate and confirms it is authentic and has the name Tang Wei as the owner.
Further documents from the Land Title Registry also has the name of Tang Wei as the lessee of the said lands for a period of 50 years.
This should suffice as both a legal and logical conclusion that until the information at the Lands Commission and the Land Title Registry are changed, Robert Tang Wei, remains the only and genuine owner of the said lands under contention between his company and Panbros Industries Limited.
Robert Tang Wei, has explained he is a law-abiding business investor who has resided in Ghana since 1998 and has even acquired Ghanaian citizenship therefore he would not do anything to disturb the peace of the investor community.
Tang Wei vehemently denies reports in a section of the media that he, under police protection, unlawfully invaded lands which do not belong to him and started to harass innocent persons.
“I am for peace because as an investor, I know my business can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and that was why I sought the protection of the security agencies,” Mr Tang Wei noted.
Robert Tang Wei categorically denied the allegations that he had harassed anyone or caused anyone to be harassed and said running to the media to claim ownership of lands which belongs to someone else is not how to acquire lands in Ghana.
Checks shows that Panbros Industries Limited started to claim ownership of the said lands when Robert Tang Wei started to develop them as part of his factory expansion project.
The contention became headline news with several allegations against Robert Tang Wei but he has swiftly provided verifiable documents of evidential value to prove his ownership.
Explaining the police presence, Robert Tang Wei said any Ghanaian or resident in Ghana who feels threatened or being unlawfully prevented from going on with his legitimate work, has the right to seek the protection of law enforcement agencies, particularly the Ghana Police Service.
Tang Wei said it is injurious to the reputation of the law enforcement agencies for anyone to suggest they supported the harassment of innocent civilians or an act of illegality for that matter.
