The Majority Leader in Parliament and Leader of Government Business, Mahama Ayariga, has disclosed that the House will add Mondays and Saturdays to its sittings days so as to allow for the maturity of certain Legislative Instruments before Parliament adjourns on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

Mahama Ayariga explained that this week, some fifty-five Ministers are expected to appear before the House to respond to various questions. He said also scheduled to appear before the House is the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama.

He said in addition to that, some Bills may be introduced for First Reading, and those of an urgent nature may be taken through the various stages in a single day, in accordance with Standing Order 160.

“In accordance with Standing Order 216(2), and subject to Standing Order 67, the Committee submits to the House the order in which business shall be taken”, Ayariga noted and said that Papers may be laid during the week and reports from committees will be presented to the House for consideration.

These, among other business items, have necessitated the additional sittings, Hon. Ayariga noted.
