    Police arrest 2 bikers with pump action gun

    TWO CIVILIANS are in hot waters after police arrested them in possession of a pump action gun and 3 BB live cartridges, without legal permit which is against the law.

    Suspects Yaw Adu and Samando Dokurugu, alias ‘Shapichino’ were nabbed with the offensive weapon at Ahenkro Lorry Station in the Ashanti Region.

    At the time of the arrest on May 16, 2025, the two male suspects were said to be riding a motorbike. They have since been placed in police custody.

    Police report disclosed that “they were arrested on 16th May 2025 at the Ahenkro Lorry Station while riding a motorbike with registration number M-25-NR 1634.

    According to the police, the two males looked suspicious, so they (police) instantly subjected them to a thorough search in the road, leading to the retrieval of the weapon.

    “A search conducted on the suspects led to the retrieval of one Adler Tulpar Pump Action shotgun with serial number 24SA-1073, and three BB live cartridges from Samando Dokurugu”.

    According to the police statement, which THE NEW PUBLISHER has sighted, the police suspect that two suspects may have a link with some night criminal activities in the area.

    “The suspects are believed to be connected to recent incidents of night-time criminal activity in the area”, the police report said, adding that the suspects would be arraigned soon.
