Level 300 communication students of the African University College of Communications and Business (AUCB) are gearing up to take centre stage on Saturday, April 26, with a dynamic presentation around branding excellence – a testament to the institution’s deepening focus on creative and entrepreneurial education.

The upcoming event, which would be held at the university’s forecourt in Adabraka, promises to be more than just a typical academic display.

It’s a curated experience, driven entirely by students, aimed at highlighting not only the principles of effective branding but also the practical, real-world applications of their studies in marketing, communication, and business strategy.

The event is part of the “Branding and Brand Management” course for level 300 communication students from the Strategic Communication department.

It aims to help students understand branding in a practical way by giving them the chance to create and present their own brand identity.

Students are expected to showcase creativity, originality, and the ability to communicate their brand messages clearly. Their presentations will include brand names, logos, slogans, mission and vision statements, as well as brand background stories.

Mr. Peter Wonders popularly known as RSM – AUCB Lecturer and Branding Expert speaking ahead of the event said, it would be a platform for students to show what they are made of, not just theories from the classroom, but being innovative, and having a market-ready ideas.

He added that, it would also be about telling stories through brands.

According to him, the event will feature interactive branding exhibitions, and team-based showcases where students will explain concepts and ideas behind their brands, the production process of their various products, among others.

Some students will also unveil their personal brands or start-ups, further cementing AUCB’s reputation as a hub for emerging talent in Ghana’s creative and business landscape.

“My students have placed their hearts into this. They will showcase to everyone that, branding is more than just logos – they understand that branding involves identity, strategy, techniques, among other unique ways. My students are ready to prove that, they understand branding at every level” he explained.

Industry professionals, alumni, and the general public have been invited to attend, with the university expecting a strong turnout. Many see this as an opportunity for stakeholders to scout fresh talent and for students to network beyond the walls of academia.

The Branding Presentation Day is a great example of how AUCB supports practical learning. It would also give students a chance to get valuable feedback from industry experts, which can help them in their future careers.
