The management of Accra Academy, an all boys senior high school in Accra, has handed over one of its student seen in a viral video flogging his junior colleagues with a cutlass to the police for further investigation.

The school clarified that the incident occurred on January 17, 2025, nearly two weeks before the video surfaced on social media. However, the victims did not report the bullying until the footage gained public attention.

Authorities have identified all students involved and contacted their parents. Some parents have responded, and their statements have been taken as part of the investigation.

The students involved in the act are all day students and have been asked to stay away from school until investigations conclude. The identified perpetrators include Shadad Aliu (a.k.a. Kester – 1 VA 1), Haleem Jibril (a.k.a. Chopper – 3 Bus 5), Ahmed Dauda (a.k.a. Foreigner – 3 GA 5), and Richard Ninsin (a.k.a. Poisonous – 3 GA 5).

The victims, who suffered the attack, are Samuel Ussher (1 Sc 10), Kingsford Quayson (1 Sc 10), Stephen Oteng (1 Sc 10), and Dominic AwukuAdjei (1 GA 2).

Preliminary investigations revealed that the cutlass used in the incident was brought from home and was not taken from the school premises. The school’s disciplinary committee has taken charge of the matter, and management has assured all stakeholders that they will be informed of the outcome.

Accra Academy’s disciplinary committee is currently overseeing the case, and the school has promised to take the needed actions based on the investigation’s results.

We have identified all the students involved, and their parents have been contacted. Some of the parents have responded, and their statements have been taken.

The student who perpetrated the act has been handed over to the police for further interrogation.

The students involved in the act are all day students and have been asked to stay away from the school pending further investigation.

The perpetrators of the act are: Shadad Aliu a.k.a. Kester (I VA 1), Haleem Jibril a.k.a Chopper (3Bus 5), Ahmed Dauda, a.k.a Foreigner (3GA 5), and Richard Ninsin a.k.a Poisonous (3GA 5)
