    Jewelry Shop Daylight Heist: Police hunt Suspects

    The Ghana Police Service has declared a manhunt for a gang of armed robbers who attacked a jewelry shop at Adabraka in Accra.

    According to the police, the heist which occurred on Saturday, November 2, 2024, got one person injured.

    The Ghana Police Service is actively searching for the suspects and has urged anyone with information to come forward. They have declared a manhunt for the robbers and assured the public that they will bring those responsible to justice.

    “The Police are on a manhunt for a gang of armed robbers who attacked a jewelry shop at Adabraka in Accra on Saturday 2nd November 2024 where one person was injured.

    We would like to assure the public that we will surely get them and bring them to face justice.”the police statement read.

    Videos surfaced online, showing the daring daylight robbery at a jewelry shop in Adabraka Market. Shortly after, CCTV footage of the incident was released, revealing the moments leading up to the heist.

    The gunmen were seen swiftly pulling up and firing warning shots multiple times as they attacked a red vehicle parked right in front of the jewelry shop. The vehicle contained money in jute bags in the trunk.

    According to reports, the amount is said to have been payment made to the occupants of the red vehicle for jewelry supplied to the shop.

    Unfortunately, they were intercepted by another vehicle occupied by armed individuals, who hijacked their vehicle and carried out their operation.

    During the robbery, the suspects allegedly stole over GH¢6 million from a customer. As they looted, one of the robbers was seen tossing money into the air, but not a single person dared to step forward to pick it up.

    The incident has understandably left local residents in fear as well asthe release of the CCTV footage has sparked discussions on social media.

    According to 3news, Mary, a food vendor positioned beside the jewelry shop, shared her harrowing experience. She recounted how the armed robbers threatened her with a gun and commanded her to flee for her life. In her desperate attempt to escape, she tripped and injured her leg.
