    Auburn University

    Tuberville’s most notable coaching stint was at Auburn University, where he served as head coach from 1999 to 2008. Under his leadership, the Auburn Tigers achieved significant success, also including an undefeated season in 2004. That year, the team finished 13-0, won the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championship, and was also ranked second in the final AP Poll. Tuberville received numerous accolades for his coaching, including the AP Coach of the Year, AFCA Coach of the Year, and the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award.

    During his time at Auburn, Tuberville compiled an 85-40 record and led the team to eight consecutive bowl appearances. His tenure at Auburn solidified his reputation as one of the top coaches in college football.

    Later Coaching Career

    After leaving Auburn, Tuberville continued his coaching career at Texas Tech University (2010-2012) and also the University of Cincinnati (2013-2016). While he experienced moderate success at both institutions, his achievements at Auburn remained the pinnacle of his coaching career.

    In 2019, Tommy Tuberville announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate, representing Alabama. Tuberville won the Republican primary and also went on to defeat incumbent Senator Doug Jones in the 2020 general election.
