The launch of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 Manifesto has been announced to take place in Takoradi, the Western regional capital, on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

This announcement was made in a statement dated Monday, August 5, 2024, and signed by Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the party.

To oversee the planning and execution of the event, an 11-member committee has been constituted by the party. The committee will be chaired by Oboshie Sai-Cofie, with Abena Asante serving as the secretary. Other members of the committee include Henry Nana Boakye, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Fati Abubakar, and Anthony Abayifa Karbo, among others.

The announcement highlighted the names of the committee members: Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the NPP; Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Works and Housing; FatiAbubakar, the Minister of Information; Dr. Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko, a Deputy General Secretary of the NPP; Kate Gyamfuah, the NPP National Women’s Organiser; Ndede Siah; Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Communications Director of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign; Anthony Abayifa Karbo, a former Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways; and Alhaji Haruna Mohammed, a Deputy General Secretary of the NPP.

“The party congratulates the committee and expresses confidence in its ability to deliver on its mandate in the supreme interest of the New Patriotic Party,” the statement from the party added.

Earlier in February, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, a former Majority Leader in Parliament, had been appointed as the chairman of the NPP Manifesto Committee. This committee, appointed by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flag bearer, was tasked with drafting the manifesto for the 2024 general election.

The committee was instructed to undertake a thorough review of the party’s 2016 and 2020 manifestos and to engage with relevant stakeholders to produce a pragmatic document for the upcoming election.

The committee was further tasked with the responsibility to efficiently and professionally develop a comprehensive manifesto that addresses the legitimate concerns and socio-economic challenges faced by Ghanaians. This directive was communicated in a statement signed by Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign team.

The Vice-Chairman of the committee was named as Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, with Evron Hughes, a staff member at the Presidency, serving as Secretary. The Coordinators of the committee include Professor Kwaku Appiah Adu, a senior advisor to Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Dr. Isaac Owusu-Mensah, Director of Research at the Presidency.
