Alex de Minaur was born on February 17, 1999, in Sydney, Australia. His tennis journey began at an early age. By the time he was three, he was already swinging a racket at the Sydney Private Tennis Academy.
Coached by Adolfo Gutierrez since he was nine years old, Alex honed his skills both in Australia and Spain. His dual citizenship reflects his strong connection to both countries. As a junior player, Alex made waves. His agility, speed, and fighting spirit earned him nicknames like ‘the demon’ and ‘Minotaur.’ The Minotaur logo, which he often signs on camera lenses after winning matches, symbolizes his tenacity and determination.
