Thomas Francis Michael Ackerley, born on June 13, 1990, in Surrey, England, embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of entertainment. As the youngest of three brothers, he grew up in Guildford, also surrounded by a supportive family. Tom’s film career began as an extra in the first three installments of the Harry Potter film series. After a brief hiatus, he also returned to the industry as a production runner, working on films like “Gambit” (2012) and “Rush” (2013).
From 2012 to 2016, Tom served as an assistant director for various television series and films. Notable projects include “Pride”, “Suite Française”, and also “Macbeth”. In 2014, alongside his future wife, Margot Robbie, and friends Sophia Kerr and Josey McNamara, Tom co-founded the production company LuckyChap Entertainment.
LuckyChap has produced critically acclaimed films like “I, Tonya” (2017) and “Promising Young Woman” (2020). Tom met Australian actress Margot Robbie on the set of “Suite Française” in 2013, and their connection blossomed. They also married in a private ceremony in Byron Bay, New South Wales, in December 2016. As of 2021, they reside in Los Angeles.
