DeMar Darnell DeRozan was born on August 7, 1989, in Compton, California. He attended Compton High School, where his basketball skills began to shine.
DeRozan played college basketball for the USC Trojans before declaring for the 2009 NBA draft. The Toronto Raptors selected DeRozan ninth overall in the 2009 draft. He spent nine seasons with the Raptors, also becoming a franchise icon. DeRozan’s scoring ability, mid-range game, and work ethic endeared him to fans.
He led the Raptors to multiple playoff appearances, also including the historic 2019 NBA Championship. His time in San Antonio showcased his versatility and leadership. In 2021, he joined the Chicago Bulls, continuing to make an impact.
