Tracy-Ann Oberman (born Tracy Anne Oberman) was born on August 25, 1966, in Brent, London, England. She is an English actress, playwright, and narrator.
Career
Notably, she portrayed Chrissie Watts in the BBC soap opera EastEnders (2004–2005, 2024) and Valerie Lewis (also known as “Auntie Val”) in the Channel 4 sitcom Friday Night Dinner (2011–2020). Oberman spent four years with the Royal Shakespeare Company before joining the National Theatre. Her theatrical credits include appearing alongside Kenneth Branagh in David Mamet’s “Edmond” (2003) and performing in the West End revival of “Boeing-Boeing” (2007–2008).
She also appeared in the production of “Earthquakes in London” in 2011. Oberman has performed in over 600 radio plays since the mid-1990s. Her TV credits include roles in Doctor Who, Mistresses, Robin Hood, and Doctors. Before EastEnders, she appeared in various television programs, including Casualty, Kiss Me Kate, and The Bill.
