Personal Life
Sha’Carri Richardson was born on March 25, 2000, in Dallas, Texas. She attended Carter High School in Dallas, where her athletic talent began to shine. Richardson also participated in track and field events, showcasing her speed and determination. In 2019, as a freshman at Louisiana State University (LSU), Richardson made headlines. She also ran the 100 meters in an astonishing 10.75 seconds at the NCAA Division I Championships, breaking the collegiate record.
This winning time made her one of the ten fastest women in history at just 19 years old. Also In 2023, she became the US national champion in the women’s 100 meters at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, running 10.82 seconds.
Richardson’s most significant achievement came at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, where she also won gold in the 100 meters. She beat Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in a new championships record time of 10.65 seconds. She also contributed to Team USA’s gold medal in the women’s 4 × 100m relay final with a championship record of 41.03 seconds.
