Tamayo Perry was an American actor and lifeguard who gained recognition for his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Born on the island of Oahu in Hawaii in 1975, Perry had a multifaceted career that spanned surfing, acting, and lifeguarding.
He portrayed one of the buccaneers in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth film in the franchise, alongside stars like Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, and also Geoffrey Rush. Perry began surfing at the age of 12 and became a talented professional surfer. Perry’s life took a tragic turn when he was attacked by a shark while surfing in Hawaii. Emergency services responded, but despite being a lifeguard himself, Perry did not survive the attack.
His death was a devastating loss to the surfing world and those who knew him. He was only 49 years old.
