Plot Summary
Gary Johnson, the protagonist, was once a brilliant criminology professor at Tulane University. His life took an unexpected turn when he was recruited by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) for an undercover operation. His expertise in criminal psychology and also his ability to blend in seamlessly with criminals made him an invaluable asset to the NOPD.
Gary’s mission is to infiltrate the criminal underworld and gather evidence against notorious crime bosses. He operates under the alias “The Professor.” His cover story is that he’s a gun-for-hire, taking contracts from various criminals. In reality, he’s feeding information back to NOPD. She stumbles upon Gary’s secret life during a chance encounter. Their chemistry is palpable, and Madison also becomes both Gary’s confidante and a potential love interest. As Gary falls for Madison, he faces an ethical dilemma. The tension escalates as Madison’s life is endangered by her husband’s criminal connections.
