Christopher Reeve was born on September 25, 1952, in New York City, USA. His parents were Barbara Pitney Lamb and Franklin D’Olier Reeve. He attended Princeton Day School and later studied acting at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. Reeve gained worldwide fame for his portrayal of Superman in the film series that began with “Superman” (1978). His chiseled physique, charisma, and earnest portrayal made him the quintessential Man of Steel. Beyond Superman, he also showcased his versatility in various roles, including Richard Collier in “Somewhere in Time” (1980) and Dr. Swann in “Superman Returns” (2006).
In 1995, Reeve’s life took a dramatic turn when he suffered a spinal cord injury during a horse-riding accident.
