    A POLICEMAN has accidentally fallen to his untimely death from a building at Yenyawoso in the Kumasi Metropolis, in the Ashanti Region.

    G/Cpl Richard Odoom, who is now deceased, was reportedly resting on a dwarf wall on the second floor of the building around 7pm on May 24, 2024.

    Unfortunately, the policeman, who belongs to the police band unit in Kumasi, fell from the building to the ground and sustained head injuries in the process.

    The injured G/Cpl Richard Odoom was reportedly hospitalized for treatment but he sadly succumbed to death three days later, which was May 27.

    “On 28/05/2024 at about 1340hrs, C/INSPR Ibrahim Roffif Anuru of Police Band Kumasi, accompanied by Inspr. Enoch Kwame Teye also of the same unit, came to the station.

    “The former reported that on 24/05/2024 at about 19:15hrs No. 52760 G/Cpl Richard Odoom of band unit fell off a dwarf wall from a two storey building at the Yenyawoso police rented quarters whilst resting on the said dwarf wall.

    “Victim sustained head injury and was rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital”, a police statement indicated.

    It added that the injured policeman was later referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment and “On 27/05/24 at about 0005hrs, victim died whilst on admission”.
