Robert Bruce Ford (May 28, 1969 – March 22, 2016) was a Canadian politician and businessman. He served as the 64th mayor of Toronto from 2010 to 2014. Before and after his mayoral term, Ford was a city councillor representing Ward 2 Etobicoke North. He was first elected to Toronto City Council in the 2000 Toronto municipal election. And was also re-elected to his council seat twice.

His father, Douglas Bruce Ford, co-founded Deco Labels and Tags, a company that produces pressure-sensitive labels for plastic-wrapped grocery products.  Career:

His focus was on fiscal conservatism, advocating for cost-cutting measures and reduced government spending. In 2010, he ran for mayor of Toronto and won, defeating incumbent mayor David Miller. His campaign promised to address issues such as transit, taxes, and government efficiency. As mayor, Ford faced numerous challenges, including controversies related to substance abuse, public behavior, and also conflicts with city council members.
