Johnny Wactor, born as John W. Wactor III, was an American actor known for his work in television series and films. He played Brando Corbin in the popular soap opera General Hospital and portrayed Johnny in the series Siberia. His film roles also included appearances in USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage and Supercell.
Johnny Wactor was born on August 31, 1986, in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. He grew up in Summerville, South Carolina, where he attended Summerville High School and later graduated from the College of Charleston in 2009. Wactor moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. His television debut was in the series Army Wives in 2007. Notably, he played Brando Corbin in General Hospital from 2020 to 2022 and Johnny in Siberia.
He gained recognition for his role as Brando Corbin in the long-running ABC soap opera “General Hospital”. The show, which first aired on April 1, 1963, also revolves around the fictional community of Port Charles, New York, featuring a bustling hospital, a luxury hotel, a friendly diner, and also a hazardous waterfront inhabited by the criminal underworld and people facing life-changing events.
His film credits include USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage and Supercell. Wactor reportedly dated actress Kaitlin Sullivan, who appeared in Fresh Off the Boat, but the couple later broke up. At the time of his death, he was working as a bartender.
Tragically, on May 25, 2024, Johnny Wactor was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles during an attempted catalytic converter theft from his vehicle. He was only 37 years old.
