    Former Nickelodeon Producer Dan Schneider Sues Documentary series ‘Quiet on Set’ Makers

    Former Nickelodeon producer and writer Dan Schneider has filed a defamation lawsuit against the makers of the documentary series “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.” Schneider alleges that the series wrongly implied that he sexually abused child actors during his tenure at Nickelodeon.

    Schneider, known for his work on popular Nickelodeon shows such as “All That,” “The Amanda Show,” and “Kenan & Kel,” was a central figure in the network’s dominance during the 1990s and 2000s. However, the documentary series “Quiet on Set” sheds light on alleged toxic workplace conditions and sexualization of young teens within the industry. Schneider was a central figure in Nickelodeon’s dominance of kid culture in the 1990s and also 2000s. As an executive producer on shows like “Zoey 101,” “iCarly,” and “Victorious,” he left an indelible mark.     Allegations and Lawsuit

    Dan Schneider, known for his work on iconic Nickelodeon shows is taking legal action. He alleges that the makers of “Quiet on Set” wrongly implied that he sexually abused child actors during his time at Nickelodeon. Schneider filed the defamation suit against Warner Bros. Discovery and other companies also behind the series in Los Angeles superior court.

    In his lawsuit, Schneider contends that the show deliberately mixes and juxtaposes images and mentions of him with criminal sexual abusers, implying his involvement. He asserts that while two bona fide child sexual abusers did work on Nickelodeon shows. He had no knowledge of their abuse and was not complicit in it.     “Quiet on Set” uses cast and crew interviews to shed light on the alleged abuse within Nickelodeon. It also describes Schneider’s shows as having a tendency to put young women in comic situations with sexual implications. The series also includes direct allegations of sexual harassment and gender discrimination from women who worked as writers under him. Despite the controversy, Schneider maintains that he condemned any abuse. Once it was discovered and was not a child sexual abuser himself.
