    Black Starlets Thrash Serbia 5-1 in UEFA U16 International Development Tournament

    Black Starlets beat Switzerland to win UEFA U-16 Development

    The Black Starlets of Ghana showcased their prowess on the pitch with an impressive 5-1 victory over Serbia in the UEFA U16 Development Tournament. After suffering an opening day defeat to Russia, Ghana bounced back in style, dominating the match from start to finish.

    Match Highlights:

    • Bright Start: Abdulai Nortey fired home just 15 minutes into the match, breaking the deadlock and setting the tone for Ghana’s attacking play.

    First-Half Dominance:

    • Ghana wasted no time making an impact. Abdulai Nortey opened the scoring just 15 minutes into the match, setting the tone for the Starlets’ attacking prowess.
    • Benjamin Hanson doubled the lead from the penalty spot, and also Daniel Kwame Koranteng added another goal, all before halftime.

    Second-Half Brilliance:

    Second-Half Pressure: Ghana didn’t ease up in the second half. Ebenezer Anane of Benab FC found the back of the net on the 63rd minute. Also extending Ghana’s lead to four goals. Serbia managed to pull one goal back, but it was too little, too late.

    In the dying moments of the game, Benjamin Tsivanyo sealed the victory for the Black Starlets.

    Preparations for WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship:

      • This emphatic win serves as crucial preparation for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship, which Ghana will also host next month.
      • The tournament also serves as a qualification pathway for the Africa Youth Championship.

    Next Opponent: Kazakhstan:

      • Ghana’s final game in the UEFA U-16 Invitational Tournament will be against Kazakhstan.
