Chris Paul doesn’t plan to let his NBA career end with the Golden State Warriors’ Tuesday play-in loss to the Sacramento Kings. Despite the disappointing outcome, Paul has made it clear that he will return for a 20th NBA season in 2024-25. In an interview with The Athletic, he stated, “I’ll talk to my wife and my kids, my family, my support system. See what it looks like. But this isn’t the end of my career. I know it for sure.”  The 12-time All-Star is looking at a 20th NBA season. But questions linger about his future with the Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors now face critical decisions in the offseason. With Chris Paul’s contract situation and the team’s performance in the play-in tournament, the Warriors must consider their options. Paul remains a key player, and his leadership and experience are invaluable. However, the team might explore trade possibilities or even a contract buyout.

Paul’s impact on the Warriors has been notable. His leadership during non-Stephen Curry minutes has been praised. And head coach Steve Kerr expressed hope that Paul would remain with the team next season. However, it’s worth noting. That this season marks the first time in 14 years that Chris Paul will not participate in the playoffs. Despite his impressive 19-season career, Paul is still chasing that elusive championship ring. with Vince Carter (22 seasons) and Jamal Crawford (20 seasons) being the only players who have played more seasons without winning a title.

As the Warriors reflect on their season. Fans can look forward to seeing Chris Paul back on the court for another year. His experience, professionalism, and leadership will undoubtedly continue to make an impact in the NBA.
