The retired Director of General Technical Service at the Ghana Police Service, COP (Retired) George Alex Mensah, has come under fire by NDC’s Deputy Director of Communications for the Bono Region, Eric Adjei after he lost his bid for the Bekwai parliamentary seat in the Ashanti Region.

Over the weekend, NPP held its parliamentary primaries across the nation, and COP Alex Mensah contested to be elected for parliamentary candidate for Bekwai constituency.

COP Mensah was very optimistic of winning the seat after the incumbent MP for the constituency resigned and not go back to parliament, however, it ended in tears as Lawyer Ralph Opoku Adusei won.

Reacting to the election results, the NDC Communicator took a swipe at former Police officer, whom he described as a gossiper and coup plotter who wanted to oust his boss IGP Dampare.

Eric Adjei was full praise for the NPP delegates in Bekwai who voted against COP Mensah and denied him a chance of representing his party in the December 7 elections.

Mr. Adjei called on former president and NDC flagbearer, John Mahama to stripped him off his title in the police rank if voted into power.

Relatedly, social commentator, Kwame A Plus has trolled COP Alex Mensah for losing the NPP primaries because he has a bad mind.

In a Facebook post, A Plus indicated that the former police officer has a bad mind and that God doesn’t reward such people.

The post read, “W’dwen bɔne nti, Onyame ntie wo sufrɛ. Dr Dampare is the best IGP ever! Ɔnabo wawi!!! Kɔnkɔnsani bɛ brɛ! Wo! Yɛ de Bible, Antoa, Ɔboɔ Kyerewaa, ne wiase atumfoɔ nyinaa abɔ wo dua! Nipa bɔne ni!! Wo ti kakraa sɛ everywhere. Tuɛ!!!”

In October 2023, the senior police official involved in the alleged plot to oust the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has revealed that Chief Daniel Bugri Naabu plotted with someone to record their private conversation.
